OCTAVIA MILLER

Octavia Miller is a 4th year dental student at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. She has made her commitment to dentistry and the underserved obvious as the mission of her school is to produce dentist for the underserved populations of North Carolina. She has served as Class President and has joined a multitude of organizations including American Student Dental Association, Student National Dental Association, Hispanic Student Dental Association, and the ECU Humanistic Environment Committee. She has held positions on the National SNDA Executive Board and currently serves as the ECU SNDA President. Octavia has been inducted into the ECU Servire Society, 2021 and 2022 Cohort and was name the overall NDAF and Colgate Audacity to Dream Scholar in 2022.  Ms. Miller has hit the ground running in her endeavors to build relationships amongst providers and patients. She shares the journey of being and becoming a healthcare provider on her social media platform, @DoctorOctavia, which operates to motivate, mentor, and expose others to dentistry. Octavia first-hand relates to intangible heroes. As a solution, she takes advantage of every opportunity to reach out and connect with residents of her hometown, Warsaw, and surrounding areas. Octavia’s true passion lie in being a role model and encourages others to pursue fields they are not often pushed towards. In the future, as Dr. Miller, she plans to become a community leader with her long-term goals being to operate a mobile dentistry unit with focus on the elderly.
